WOOL IN AUSTRALIA.
' 9 PROSPECTS OF SHIPMENT. Details regarding the amount of wool remaining in Australia. under the control of-the Central Wool Committee‘ and the prospects of finding" shipDing space for its export were given _ by the Prime Blinister recently. Mr Hughes -stated that, during the quarter ended December 31, 1919, 461,884» bales had been shipped from Australia, and 549,946 bales during the quarter ended -on March 31, 1920. These totals included 100,000 bales shipped for sale in America and 113,000 bales shipped for sale in Antwerp. On the basis of _the shipping space allotted for April, ‘and of the quantities which had been ‘cleared during April, it was estimated; that 490,000 bales would be shipped‘ lduring the quarter ending June There would then be between 1,250,000] :and 1,300,000 bales of the wool pur‘lchased by the British Government}
