V A youth named Robert Henry ,Brockie pleaded guilty in the PoliceICourt to charges of convertingvto his, {own use sums totalling £362, the ‘property of his employer. Accused, whose age is 16, was employed at 3. solicitor’s orfice, and trust moneys were given him to bank. He used about £IOO of the money, which was spent in joy riding, including one to Christchurch, where he was arrested, £lB7 being found in his possession. Some cheques for small amounts werealso recovered. Accused was committed for sentence. MINISTER OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS. V MR G. J. ANDERSON APPOINTED. WELLINGTON, May 12_ -Mr Massey announced tonight. that‘ Mr G. J. Anderson, of Mataura, has been appointed Minister of Internal Affairs. He also said that in the meantime Hon. Coates will carry 6n Defence, but this and other portfolios" will be definitely allocated before the House meets. “I do not say that another Minister will not be app'ointed,f”j he added, “but Cabinet as it now is is a good Cabinet. Every member of it is enthusiastic and anxious to make a. success of the Departments under his control.”
