PRESENTATION.
I TO MR H. A. 0. DURAND. A very pleasant little function took fiplace on ‘Friday last in the office of the Otaihape Meat and Produce Company, when Mr H. A. O. Durand, who has been in the employ of the company for some time as accountant, but who i: leaving to commence in business zon his own account, was the recipient of a handsome travelling rug and a safety razor outfit from the istaff as a mark of the goodwill and respect in which he was held by them. Mr P, S. Carroll, managing secre'tary, made the presentation in a vex-y~ }happy little speech, in which he referred to the very cordial relations »which had always existed between the staff ‘and Mr Durand, who was one r the oldest employees of the Conlp:an_Y. ' He spoke highly of the ability of Mr I Durand in can-wing out his duties, stressing the loss his departure would! be to the company and the staff. He assured Mr Durand that the very best wishes of the staff would go wit.-*1 him in his new venture, and he asked. Mr Durand to accept a travelling rug and safety razor outfit as a. taugibie expression of the respect and est-:-em] in‘ which he was held by the staff.
