MR MASTERS LEADING.

The electiofi was very keenly contested, but without special incident. 1 With three small returns to come ‘the figures are:— I M€fstel's (O) M Hine (G) Absent voters to come number 579. ‘Mr Masters"retlTrn is considered as ‘sured. (At the last election (which was upset) the voting was: R. Masters 3027, J. B. Hine 2964. Compared with the prevfous election, it‘ will be seen that Masters this time polled 140 votes more, and Hine only 33 additional. For various reasons it is anticipated that the Liberal candidate’s majority will be increased when the final numbers go up.)
