AMUSEMENTS.

‘ THE KING-’S. ' TO-NIGHT ONLY. Alice Joyce’s latest Vitagraph feature is a modern Inurder mystery -drama entitled “That Winchester Wonlan,” and it has plenty of thrills and excitement without at any time being forcible and unpleasant. The principzrl theme is provided by the insatiably curiosity of the small town gossips, and their readiness to nose out and manufacture from nothing a scandal about any one whose whole history from -birth is not c.ommon property. They deal harshly with the beautiful, unknown woman who seeks to )bury herself in a village, having cleared her name of clouds of suspicion. She readily, and at the risk of her happiness and honour, stands to save a young girl from the risk of dishonour, and is prepared‘ to pay the price herself, but is saved the necessity by a.' strange t.urn of fate. Alice ‘Joyce, as lovely as ever, is wholly satisfying in the leading role, and is supported by a strong company.
