The Prince left for Auckland at. one o’eloc1«: this morning. preceded by a ti-ain‘at 10.10 p.ln. and midnight. The Governor left by the latter, and was followed by an einergeney train at ;]..45 -.r.m. The Prince walked to the gstution at 10.30 p.m._. going through the yard via. Whaka. Road. The party included some Maori girls, who started native songs. The Prince entered into the Spirit -of the thing, and shook hands with each member. This informal escort cheered him and other members of the Royal ‘family. A considerable number of people remained on the platform til] the departure of the Prince’s train. He did not appear. When it went. there were a few cries of “Goodbye, Digger!” ' I-ue (consequence of the action of the; local Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Trade has issued an order rationingl certain foodstuffs, fuel, and benzine,l at Rotorua., on account of the large‘ number of people stranded there and} the small supplies. The Px'ince’s train, which left Rotorua. at 12.55 a.m., readied Auckland at eight o’clock without incident His further movements are uncértain. At present the Prince remains aboard the Warship.
