SIR THOMAS MACKENZIE.
LONDON JO'D'RNAL’S -TRIBUTE. A tribute to the work of Sir Thomas "M-.u-kenzie as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London was recently published in the Financier, in referonce to the annofincement that he vcould leave for New Zealand in August. “His departure will be v,ery keenliy regl'ellfe.d,” says the {Finaneier. “During his eight years of ofiice he has been the life and soul of New Zealand in this country. He has worked hard to promote the best interests of the Dominion, of which he has been Prime Minister, has tl'zLVelled e:<tensively over the United Kingdom, and delivered innumerable uddresses, and has been instrumental in making the resources of the country more widely known among all classes of the eolnmunity.
“I*l'i.s' p:ltl'ioti(: work during the War will ever be remembered. He made the welfare and comfort of the men of the New Zcaland contingent. his special study, and his care for the sick and wounded has earned for him impel'ishable fame.
“In political, conlmercial, and financial circles he has made :1 host: of t':'icxlds, and‘ the experience he has gained during his term of office c.u.nnot. fail to be of the utmost possible value to him should 110 return to political life.
