At the invitation of Mr and Mrs GoldSblU‘)', a number of fl'iOlld>‘ met. at their home on Friday night last, to welcome the Rev. ‘A’. Lea, the new Methodist minister. A most. pleasant social evening \vus spent in so;lg.=.. music. games and chat, Mr and Mrs Goldsbury making everyone fell at home. Songs were given by Misses Campbell and Linton and Mrs Clinton and Messrs Goldsbury and Prime, while Miss Pile a.nd‘Mesdames Prime. Linton, E. Goldsbury and Scherf gave instrumental items, and Mr Phillips gave a recitation. During the evening Mr McCorkindale, on behalf of the Ohutu congregation welcomed Mr Lea.to the district. Mr Lea. suitably responded. A bountiful supper brought a pleasant. evening to a close, with expressions of thanks to Mr and Mrs Gclrlsbtiry for their hospitality.

While heartiljv regretting the severance from the school, we are pleased that we are not going to 1080 Mr Goldsbury for his interest in all things public will still he at our disposal. Quite a number of c-ur children are looking fnrxvard to going to Marten on Saiul'day to see the Prince, that is if the long threatened strike does not event.ua.te before them. The Social Club intends to resume those pleas-ant evenings that marked last winter and a meeting is to be held this week to arrange a syllabus. The dairy season that is now drawing to a close has heeii a most successful one, the supply of crezun dur- » ing the past. two or three months heing much above the average for pre] vious years. it‘? 9
