At the meet.ing of the Wellington Acolimafisatiou Society held last week, Mr George Cooper sent a copy of the Spol-tsnlan’s Creed, which has ‘found a large sale in America. The creed is as‘ follows: (1) Safety first. Never en.danger humanlifo. Never fire at anything if you cannot see the animal distinctly. Anything might be behind :1, moving bush, including your best

friend. Relnembei‘, plenty mf sportsmen can imitate the call of birds and animals. (2) Never kill game or fish brutally, wantonly. or wastefully. Never leave 3 badly-‘wounded animal to die a lingering death if it can be avoided. (3) Never -be a game hog, or kill more than your fair allowance. Always leave “seed” 01' breeding stock. If this is not done tihe race of sportsmen will soon be as dead as the men. Diseourage the killing; of game for money. '(-i) Respect: the rights and feelings of landowners and farmers, and use thoughtful care towards their animals, pl'opel't.y, and fences. (5) Help one another. Take your share of the work as well as the sport. (6) Love Nature tor itself in all its moods and phases. Protect its ereatums and its flora. as a beautiful heritage. Once we lose them they are gone for ever.
