AN APPARENT DEDLOCK.
AUCKLAND, This Day.
There is apparently a deadlock in the negotiations between the City Council and the tramwaymen with respect to the demand for increased pay. "The best offer made by the Council, in each of the three sections, is four pence per hour, while the men demand ninepence. The parties meet again to-day.
