BUTTER AND CHEESE.

OUTLOOK FOR EXPORT.

WELLINGTON, April 15.

Mr R. Ellison, London representative of the National Dairy ‘Association of New Zealand, expressed the opinion to-day that the shortage of butter in the Old Country will continue for some considerable time. The fact that Siberian supplies have been cut Out is: the big factor, and the Danish supply has been decreased by a great demand on the Continent and loss of stock. Tire general impression in England is that there will be a bigger demand for butter in the future even than in the past, and there is therefore a. very considerable future still for New Zealand butter at Home. The cheese position, added Mr Ellison, has been eased somewhat from a conSumer’s view by a large production of cheese in Engla.nd and a. large increase in imports from Ireland.
