FOOTBALL.
The annual general meeting of the Rovers Football Club was held'in the Railway Social :Hall on Sunday, Mr W. .T. .\lulll'o presiding. The balance-sheet showed the Club to be in a financially psatisfaetoi-_ry position, cash in hand amounting to £6 4/. The Club also possesses a set of its own jerseys; The secretary and treasurer was thanked for his services in collecting subscrip—tions, and it was decided to present him tvitha trophy valued at £2 2/ in. recognition of his good work. The question of continuing in the competitions was fully discussed, and it was eventually decided to disbaud the Club. Past players, especially those outside the railway service, were thanked for their service and loyalty to the Club, which has always had an uphill fight, with little chance of winning the cup, but always with the view of keeping the competitions alive. On the motion. of the chairman, it was unanimously agreed to hand over to Mr J. Thurston the money in hand for the encouragement-, of school football in the Taihape district, also that the club jerseys be offered for sale to the Taihape Sub-Union, and the money so derived He also handed to Mr Thurston for the same object.

The Rugby Union Committee has discussed the Australian‘-New Zealand suggestions for alterations to rules. It was -decided to hold a special meeting of the International Board when it receives South Africa ’s opizjion.
