WEDDING.

SWENSON——COWDR;AY.

A very pretty wedding took place on March 24th at the Church of England, Halcombe. The contracting par« ties were Miss Millicent Jessie Cow-~ dray, elder daughter of Mrs F. Cow~ drab’. Halcombe, and Mr Martin Swen‘son, elder son of Mr Martin Swanson, Taihupe. The bride, WllO was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown ‘of ivory crepe de chine, beautifully trimmed with pearls and silver fringes, she wore a lovely wreath and veil, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of asters; sweet peas, and maiden hair fern. The chief bridesmaids were Miss Dolly Swenson (sister of the bridegroom), who wore a blue silk aeoline finished with gild edgings, and a hat} of black tulle; and Miss Nancy Cowdray (sister of the» bride), who wore ‘a pink. silk voile with gold lace overall, and hat of black lace. They carried shower lbouquets of asters and sweet «peas. llllliss Jean Davis (niece of the bride) [was flower girl, and wore a pretty lwhite silk frock, and carried a basket of lovely flowers. The bridegroom presented the bride with a gold wristlet watch, and to the bridesmaids and flower girl gold brooches. Mr H. Souffleat acted as best man, and Mr Tom Swenson as groomsman. The‘ reception was held at the Foresters’ Hall, Halcombe, which was beautifully done up for the occasion. After the wedding breakfast the bridal party motored to Feilding, where the happy couple left for the South’ amidst showers of confetti and good wishes. There were many telegrams Ifrom absent friends and relations. The presents were numerous and costly, including several cheques. The bridefs mother wore ‘a gown of black corded silk, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of pink as-ters. The ,bridegroom’s mother wore a black lsatin costume, with black -hat, and |carried a bouquet of mafive asters.
