OTAIRI RIDING.

No. 2 grader Has trimmed up Pou--kicre and Ofairi Roads, and is now at Braemer’s, making a road into a new metal pit on Hall’s property. ' Repairs arc beiiigf carried out to Turakina Valley Road, above Otairi, where damaged by floods. . The overflow draixf asked for by Oliingaiti settlers has been laid ofi, and arrangements made to have a culvert laid under rai_lway, I estimate the job will cost. about £3OO to complete satisfactorily. TEKAPUA RIDING. Repairs are in hand to culvert near Pohonui ‘School, which was badly damaged’ in recent flood. The timber for extension to\culVcrt. is under order. Damage to Upper Turakina Valley Road is also being repaired. » Tenders are again invited for gravelling Murray’s Track, Tiriraukawa to Mangaone. ' No. 1 Grader is at work on Namunui and Kaweka Roads. ‘About 200 cubic yards of meta} has been quarried at new pit on Makohine Valley Road. I expect to get enough; to do a considerable amount of metalling. RUANUI RIDING. ‘Gravel repairs to Mataroa Roads are in hand. . Good progress is being made with gravelling contract on M-ataroa.-Rua- ‘ nui Road.

The Toe Toe Road is being damaged by,contra.ctors carting gravel from from Rangitikei for Taihape Borough works. ‘I am taking steps to protect the Council in the matter. Tenders have’ been invited for Up-g per Kawbatau and-Hikurangi Bridges timber and cables for which are under order.
