HINE’S LIVELY MEETING
STRATFORD, This Day
Mr J. Hine addressed a cf-owded meeting at Stratford, vigorously replying to Mr Ma'sters, and ins-tifying the petitioners’ action in upsetting the election, maintaining it was the Gov-ex-mnenti’s duty to interfere in an)’ election where -the candidate broke the law. A lively meeting concluded with the p':issTng of ii resolution “congratulating Mr H‘fn'e on the fight for clean politics and confidence in him,” amidst cheering and uproar.
Messrs Ward and Co. will hold a r'.l§‘.ul'ing sale on Thursday next of household furniture and efiects, on behalf of Mr Brooks, on the premises next Messrs Wilson and Co.’s store, Tui St. The complete furnishings of the house will be offered, and as the furniture is practically new, it will be a, splendid opportunity to secure modern furniture of good quality at auction prices. The sale starts "at 1.30 pm.
