3 THE ‘KING'S. “VIRTUOUS VVIVES.”

“Virtuous Wives” is a remarkable production in every way. It is lavish and startling in every detail, it is a story of the society that delights in treading on thin ice. It is lovely Anita Stewart's lirst production under the banner of First National, and it is an adaptation of a story that reached the wonderful circulation of two million copies. The authors, Owen Johnson, in the story showed a wonderful knowledge of_ women, and his picturing of society’s definition of virtuous and marriage, could only have been garnered fromawide knowledge of his subject. ‘Anita Stewart, as the young society dilettante, the only one of her set to whom pleasure is young, is a revelation in‘ screen artistry. The caste reads like a. benefit entertainment, for rarely has such a collection of stars been brought together for one production. “The Fighting Trailf’ will also be screened. The episode is perhaps the most exciting to date. .
