FIRE AT FOXTON.

FOXTON, March 26.

Shortly after 4 o’clock this morning, the Foxton Racing Club’s office and contents in Main Street were totally destroyed by fire. The confiagration spread to the Manawatu Herald newspaper oflice adjoining, upon which the newly-formed Fire Brigade, assisted by the chemical engine ,concentrated, and saved. Fortunately there was no wind, otherwise the first-aid equipment could not have prevented the destruction of the Herald and adjoining premises. The cause of the fire is a mystery. The insurances and amount of damage are not yet ascertainable.
