INTERESTING WILL CASE.

ADJOURNED FOR THREE YEARS.

MASTERTON, this day‘

A somewhat unusual case was heard by the Chief Justice, at‘ the Supreme Court yesterday, when Mrs A. L. Palconer sought for an increase in the legacy left her under the will of her late husband, The application was based under the Family Protection Act of 1908. The net value of the estate Was £7500, and the income £250. Mrs Falconer was to be paid £2_a Week from the estate, and the son teas prepared that the mother’s allowance be increased from £lO4 to £2OB per annum. Mrs Falconer at present is in receipt of, the whole income from the estate, but upon William Clarence Falconer attaining the age of 21 years, in three years’ time her income will be only £lO4 per annum.

His Honour said it was problematicul as to what was going‘ to happen in land values be'tween now and March 18, 1923, when young Falconer came. of age, After discussion, his Honour said he would adjourn the case for three years. This, said his Honour, was {he longest adjournment he had ever ordered, but if be fixed an amount on the present values an injustice might be done to some moxnbors of tlm family.
