TAIHAPE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
f The Committee in charge of the ‘local library submit a report. of their ?work for the year ending March 31st lnext. It is only barely four months 'since they took charge of the institu—tion, and in that short time they have , been successful in placing it. on a. fair l footing. . I Over forty subscribers are on the ! books, and some £3O has been spent} {in books. . As soon as funds will allow it, a librarian will be appointer, and the library will be opened more I frequently. It is very little to ask of ithe people of Taihape their support.‘ ’aml encouragement. A few donations ‘ywould be :1 great eneouragement,,‘.'lnd more subscribers an essential to‘ further progress. During April 3 meeting of subscrib-' ers will be called to elect a committed, and oflicers for the ensuing twelve‘ months. . . It is hoped that more liberal support} will be forthcoming from the Borough‘ Council in the ensuing financial year. When the work is left to the few, the least the rest can dc is to subscribe the Wherewithal for the upkeep of the institution.
