The Board of Trade returns for February show imports’ 170; millions sterling, the exports, 86 millions, the increases being 63 millions, and 39 millions respectively, coinpzu-ed with February of last year. Official estimates issued indictae that national expenditure for the year 1920-21. ostiinated, is 1187 million,‘ of which the Civil Services absorb 557 millions. Interest on the _Nal-ional Debt is 400 millions; Army 125 millions; Navy 64 millions; Air Fome 21 millions. Compared to the total of 208 millions submitted in the spring, 1914. of which Civil Services absorbed 92 millions; National Debt Services 36; .-\rln_v. 29; Navy 51. The revised Naval Estimates for 1919-20 show :1 gross expenditure of 97 millions. The amount assigned to .new construction is four millions. ‘but this is entirely for conipletion of vessels laid down during wartime.
