A CURIOUS ACCIDENT.
M WELLINGTON, This Day. A curious and serious accident oc~ curred at Mr Riddifoi-d’s station. Te Awaite, as a result whereof :1. returned soldier named Corbell now lies in hospital in a critical condition. He was carting firewood to the station, and dropped the reins am’! stopped the wagon, but while Gorbell was endeavouring to recove.‘r“file reins the horses moved on. The man slipped and fell, and somehow the wagon overturned, Corbell being buried in the wood. He remained unnoticed for 20 ininuos, and was then in a serious condition, and taken to the station, Where he was attended‘ by at medical visitor. A passing coastal steamer, the Ripple, was signalled, picked the injured man 111), and brought him to Wellington.
