._....__(y.....-..:\l-rangements in connection with the sports meeting to be held on the Recreation Ground on Wednesday next, March 17, are practically complete, and the meeting should be most. successful in every w:2_v. ‘The comfort of patrons is being well. catered for, and there will be a booth for light refreshments on the grounds. The competition in all the handicap events will be very keen, as the nominations constitute a record. The nominations for the four chopping events now total about 120. and there are ninety nominations‘ for the five running events.
Train services are suit;a‘.;le, and a train will leave for Marfon. Wzln;2;a--nui and Palmerston North at 4.45 p.m. Northern visitors have the choice of two trains, one leaving at 5.50 p.m. and the other at 10.55 pm.
