The competition in all the handicap events will be very keen, as the nominations constitute a record. The nominations for the four chopping events now total about 120. and there are ninety nominations‘ for the five running events.

Train services are suit;a‘.;le, and a train will leave for Marfon. Wzln;2;a--nui and Palmerston North at 4.45 p.m. Northern visitors have the choice of two trains, one leaving at 5.50 p.m. and the other at 10.55 pm.
