The Bands’ contests concluded on Saturday. Ideal weather prevailed for the Quick Step Championship, over 20,000 being present. on the Caledonian grounds, the takings exceeding £BOO. Financial success of the contest. is assured. Results:‘

[ The band of the Second South Can‘terbury Regiment (259 marks) was next. The other competitors were: InVercargill Hibernians, 255-1‘; Palmerston North, 249;; Ninth Hawke’s Bay, 241; Tenth Regimental, Blenheim, 2361.-; Auckland City, 235; St. Kilda, 233; H‘ Twelfth Nelson—Marlborough, 229; Vilatersicle \Vorkers, Wellington, 229; Ist Canterbury Regimental, 227»};_ Dominion Band, Invercargill, 227; Dannevirke Mnnic‘,ipal, 224%-; Ly*t"tel-. ton Marine, 2212-; Vvinton Municipal, 1965; Christchurch Traniways, 191. The B-Flat. Cornet championship solo was won by B. \Vills (Invereargill Hibernian) with 46, H. FOX (‘VOOI- - next with -14, \V. H. Osborne (Sth South C'antel'bur_\f) third, with 40. DETAILS OF A GRADE . RESULTS DUNEDIN, March 7. The final result of the A. Grade test. piece was:—— 1 Kaikorai (Mr H. F. Davey) .283 1 Wanganui (Mr W. M. Partington), I 283 2nd South Canterbury (Mr A. Schnack) Invereargill Hibernian (Mr A. R. wins) Kaikorai and ‘Wanganui therefore' divide first and second prizes (£250 and £125). Second South Canterbury; takes the third prize of £75; Invercar—' gill Hibernian take fourth prize of‘ £SO. . _
