ADDINGTON, March 3

At the Addington market there was an average yam-ding of fat cattle and sheep, and a large one of fat lambs. Both cattle and sheep sold at late 1-ates, notwithstanding that freezi-._lg buyers operated less freely than usual. Fat lambs Were easier.

Store Sheep.——Thel'e was a large yanling, about 28,000 being offered. The sale for forwzu-d lambs and wethers was good, although all lines eased towards the close of the sale. F‘orW:ll'd lambs 22/ to 24/10’, ordinary 18/ to 21/9, low conditioned inferior 14/ -to 17/9, cull 11/4 ‘to 13/0, 46 and B—th ewes to 31/2, and 4-th 26/ to 31/2. 4 and 6-th 25/ to 32/, good 4 and (Hll to :33/5, low conditioned 18/6 to 24/6, aged 14/5 to 19/, 2 and 4-Th wethers to 29/2, 6 and 8-th 28/, 2-th lmlfbi-ed ewes’ 42/. Fat L:lmbs.~—6Boo were penned, compared with 4860 the preceding week. A big proportion were of in«lifferem quality, which met with slow sale. A few pens of really prime brought from 33/ to 36/, prime lambs 29/ to 322/11, medium 25/ ‘to 27/9, lighter and unfinished 20/6 to 24/9.

[ Fat Cattle.--350 were penned and the quality generally was inferior. a great quantity of unfinished stuff being put forward. Values were firm ‘throughout, particularly toward the lclose. Prime steers £3l to £24 10/, medium £ls to £2O 10/, lighter and unfinished £8 15/ to £l4 12/6, prime heifers £l7 to £l7 6/. lighter £8 7/6 to £l2‘. 10/, prime cows £l3 10/ to £lB 10/, lighter £ll to £l3. Fat Sheep.--~.Xn average yarding of seven races of good quality and ‘tone. [Prices were very firm towards the ‘close. Freezing buyers secured a proportion of the yarding, but did not display so much activity as at ‘recent sales.
