At the conference recently called by the Board of Agriculture. one of the most. important. niattérs deait with was that of overseas Shippingr. a result of this a request. was n‘:uv]e to Mr Massey that the Govt-rrnnent should at once enter into negotiations with the shipping authol'itieS on matters connected with freights for our produce when trading was again free. This matter he has now in hand, and hopes soon to be able to report to a larger conference the result of these negotiations for the consideration of the producers and industries concerned.
ACCIDENTS AN D FATALITI ES.
WAIRARAPA TRAGEDIQS. MASTERTON, March 7. Robert McKinnon, married, aged 37, who_has been a station manager’ ii the district for some years, shot himself in the head with a revolver at his home at Landsdowne on Saturday afternoon. He died later in the hospital. At the inquest it We shown that he ‘had been ‘suffering from a nervous breakdown, and a verdct of suicide While temporarily insane wafs returned.
A man named Cornelius Wiley WBS admitted to the Greytown Hospital last night suffering from serious injuries sustained through collision With 9- goods» train while riding a motor cycle. A motor car ran into a motor cycle and side car occupied by Mr Albert Falconer, his wife and two children, in Masterton this morning. One of the children was admitted to the hos» pital suffering from severe injuries, while the others suffered shaking and abrasions.
