BREAD AND FLOUR.
INCREASED PRICES ANNOUNCED.

l The decision of the Goyernment with regard to increases to be made in the prices of Bread and flour in consequence of the increases in the‘ prices of wheat, was make known by the Prime Minister. The increase of‘ one penny per 21b loaf recently announced is not sanctioned, nor will} the price of flour be allowed to rise: by £3 per ton. The increases are to be exactly haif tliese amounts. Cab~
inet yesterday sanctioned the followging prices for the year_ ending Feb‘ruary 28'th, 1921: F’l'6u'f ‘£l6 10/ per [ton f.o.b. Lyttelbon, Timaru, and 0&ymaru; other ‘places plus .tra.'l.l;»'po_-‘ta~ [lion charges (-the price of flour up tifl mow has been £ls per ton); bran ‘ £7, and pollard £9 f.o.b. same pom; and an increase in ‘bread prices of éd ,per 21b loaf; and 1d per _4lb loaf over; the prices fixed last year by the Board J of Trade. These prices will operate} forthwith. ‘A subsidy to millers has been fixed, and arrangements made to ensure that the public will receive the benefit, as far as the carryover from last year’s surf)llls is concerned.
