OPENING UP UREWERA.

’ THE MAIN ROADS. Urewera last week. states that he is now formulating proposals with a view to the early settlement of the 300,000 acres already purchased by the Government. He proposes that the Work of partitioning native interests and Government interests shall be taken in hand as soon as possible. He will have surveys made of the main outlets and anticipates that one road will follow Whakatane River‘ valley and that another will come near Waimana.
