ESCAPE FROM GAOL.
BURGLAR AT LARGE. WANGANUI, Feb. 24. Oscar Strangebye escaped from gaol by scaling a wall this n"lor'ning. V'igol'oll‘s' search was prosecuted ,but so far has been unsuccessful, Strangebye was under remand on a charge Of breaking, ellteling and theft at Wanganui, and was to appear in the Magistrate’s Court to-morrow. He was afrested at Auckland where he was recently sentenced tn two years? imprisonment and declared an habitual criminal f'or’similal- nffczlcos.
