CONCERNING HIDES.
KEW REGULATIONS ISSUED. WELLINGTON, Feb. 20. The new regulations dealing with hides are being issued. They are on the linos of the Australian scheme, providing a practically free market so far as prices arc concerned,- but issuing adequate supplies to local, re.'ncrs. They provide that tanners are to have the right to take any lot. of hides at auction at the at which it is knocked down. Hides not sold by .auction must Ire offerer: to tanners befo-e being 'sold or exported. The Government retain*; control of export in order to enforce these conditions.
