Allister pleaded guilty ‘at Hamilton, yesterday to theft of a leather suit case and contents, valued at £33 16/, the property of the New Zealaud Government. The evidence showed that accused went to the Hamilton railway station to sescure a. parcel which he had left there. and was given the portmanteau by mistake. He took the bag; away, forced the lock, and took some of the contents to’Aucklalld, where he ‘pawned them. The remainder was recovered in a bag in :1 Cambridge hotel. Accused, whto had nothing to say was committed to the Auckland Supreme Court for sentence. He was also eliarged with stealing a, set of harness, valued at £5, the property 01": Vincent Lewis; a saddle’, valued £3 10/. the pl:-Ioperty of A. D. Kovirh; a sadrlle, valued £4, the property of .T. Clements; and D. saddle, valued £1 10/, the property <l. D. V. Bryant.
