CLAIM FOR WAR BONUS.
SUPERANNUATED RAILWAYMEN CHRISTCHURCH, (Feb. 16. At. a gen/era] meeting of the Superannuated Rai]waymen’s Association, when there was an attendance of over 70 members. correspondence was received from the Prime Minister, stating that the claim of the Association for a war ibonus would be placed before the Cabinet at an early date. A resolution was passed to the effect that the Association bring the matter once again before the Prime Minister, as ‘the cost of living was still increasing. Immediate attention to the claims of the Association eras therefore necesséiry. It was decided to write to the e:«::~ ecutive of the parent body—~the Amalgamated Society of Railway Ser~ vants-—deploring its inaction in the matter, and stating that the Associaption considered some explanation was due, in View of the fact that so many members of the Association had materially assisted in building up the society to its present position.
