ACCUSED BEFORE THE COURT. A REMAND GRANTED. ' KAITAIA, Feb. 14. Yesterday in the Kaitaia Court, Honi Selwyn, a native, 22 years, was charged with the murfier of Mei Huni, aged 22, at Awanui, on February 7, and was remanded in custody fill the 19th inst.

Accused *is a bush worker af Kaingaroa. Deceased was engaged on Government drainage works, and the unfortunate man is alleged to have been killed during a. fracas at A-Wanui. Constable Callwell, after a long search, found the body in a ditch. An inquest was opened at‘ Awanui on the: 12th in.<’r.. and after evidence of identification and a post morferfi examination, Hm inquest was adjourned till February 18.
