NELSON, Feb. 10

‘Alfred George Owen Brooks, was charged at ‘the M\agis:t.rate’s Court with stealing a. sheep at W.akefield. He was further -charged with being found in possession of three sheepskins from which the ears and brands haddbeen removed. On the first charge he was sentenced to one ‘nlonth’s imprisonment with hard la--bour, and on the second he was convicted and discharged. The skins were found in accused’s house under the roof and one of them had .a bullet hole in it. A -
