Mr Allan Wilkie announces that on Friday, 13th, he will present “The Midnight Wedding.” This fine costume drama is by that Well-known author Wlalter Howard, who also wrote “Seven Days’ Leave,” and. the “Story of the Rosary,” which were produced by Mr Allan Wilkie on his New Zealand tour some two years ago, and proved such successes. Speaking of “The Midnight VVedding” the Auckland Star said: “The Midnight‘ Wedding” will be remembered as one of ‘the great successes of the Meynell and Gunn management. It is a military costume play of four acts and thirteen scenes, and the rattle of swords, and the jingle of spurs, and the brilliance of the Hussar uniforms provides an attractive selttling to the many dramatic episodes of the piece. Mr Allen Wilkie portrays Paul Valman with the proper touch of strength and forwardness that the characte~r'l-equires, ‘the young oflicer whose extraordinary marriage with the heroine is but one of the many exciting experiences which ultimately lead to the vindication of his name. As the heroine, Print/sess Astrea, Miss FredesWyde Hunter Walls, plays a difficult part vdth’ digrrrfy, and with a, sympathy that never fails to Win the apPToVal'of the audience. There is a great deal of sparkling comedy all through the drama, provided by three merry Hussar soldiers, and a girl ‘at the G 015“ Gragon Hotel.
