A COMPROMISE,

CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 3.

Concerning the trouble at Cashmere Military Sanatorium, at a conference held to-day between oflicers and men, the authorities decided to instruct the orderlies to do all the work to which they objected efcept the washing of dishes. The men held 'a‘mee'tiug later and, after being addressed by the President and Secretary of the Chnistchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association, decided to return to the Sanatorium for a period of seven days to allow the Returned Soldiers’ ‘Association to negotiate with the authorities.
