THEFTS ON TRANSPORT.
MANY PASSENGERS ROBBED.
NO ABRESTS. The harmony of the voyage of the transport Bremen from England to Wellington was disturbed ‘by perpetration of a series of thefts. These commenced on January 12th. and wcl'o continued almost until the Ship reached Wellington. Articles were stolen from passengers in the first, second, and third classes, and although a diligent watehwas kept, no ofl'endel' was caught. Upon a.l'x'ival<at Welliiigtoii detectives visited the Bremen and intcnogated a number of “suspects,” and also made an inspection of bag gage after the vessel berthed. How-
