A Referring to statements‘ made tregarding shortage of space in -the frozen meat stores, the Prime Minister has made ‘t_he following official sfdtement: The quantity of meat in store on December 15th. for xvhieh no shipping space al]4o"ca.’tions have been made was 3,934,389 ,601 b freighiz carcases. As much of this meat is felescoped for the purpose of arriving at the space oecupfled in the works, this. quantity is reduceable by approximately 700,000 60]b earcases, leaving a net. amount not pl'ovided for on December 16th of 3,232,389 6011) care-ases. The total storage capacity of the works is at present 7,718,367 60]b uncut earcases, b 0 by reducing this latter quan’rit_.y by 3,234,389 eercases previously referred to, the balance is left capable of accommodating £483,978 601 b uneuf carcases.
