Geddcs is postponed till the 13th. Cabinet meets-on the same day, and at the meeting it is expected a decision lwill be reached rgarding the railwaymen’.s. rejection of the Gove-rnmcent offer. It is pointed out in Government circles that if the Inen’s full demands. were conceded tTle- nation would have fought the last strike in vain. It is? regarded as proba'ble ‘that the Government will be unable to recede from the position already taken up, while it is believed that the hostility of the branches of the Ra.ilwaymen’s Society to the -t_erm.s. arranged with the leaders is largely due to misappi-‘ehension_
