THE PEACE TREATY.
NEW YORK, Jan. 5. The Times’ corresplondent says that it is stated that Senator Underwood wilt request the Senate to create all official conciliation committee to work out a treaty compromise ‘in the event of the Republication mild reservationists not oifering a basis of compromise. It is understood that the Democrats will una-nimously support Senator Underwood. . RESERV.-NTION RE VOTING POWER. WASHINGTON, Jan. 4. A new issue regarding the Peace. Treaty, it is reported, has been rejected by Presi:‘.ent Wilson. It is stated that he violently objects to the proposed reservation iiealing with the voting power of the League of Nations. He declares its adoption will disfranchise Cauadzi, Australia, and other Dominions, which would certainly pro--test‘, and the British Government would surely support such protests.
