ACCUSED PROTESTS AGAINST -' CONVICTION. . d E “ CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 6. Henry Leonard Bradding, foreman of “B” railway _good§ shed, Christ: church, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by the Magistrate, Mr S. E. M’Cal'thy,,this morning, for thetheft of quantities of iron and timber. Evidence was given that the iron was taken from the goods shed by a carrier I'o !accused’s place, and that the timber also was stolen ‘Accused gave the police a contradictory account of his possession of the iron and timber, but offered no evidence. The Magistrate said the accused had committed a. breach of trust. setting -a badlextimplc to the men underihis charge. The case required more than a fine, so he inflicted 2. sentence of three months. Accused, inleaving the court again protested his innocence, and announced that he intended to appeal. M
