Newspapers recently have again been calling attention to the appalling conditions of Vienna It is now announced that immediate steps are ing taken in England, France, and Italy to give relief. Italy is sending grain, and England large consignments of fats and other foodstuffs. It is also arranged that CzechoSlovakia, Jugoslavia, and Poland shall release :1 large number of railway ‘trucks for Austrian use. These measures, however, are purely temporary, as it is felt that nothing ,ipel-manent can be attempted till America falls into line with her Allies re- ’ lgar-ding ex-enemies.’
