USES OF TIMBER.
His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner in New ‘Z~eal'an(l has been advised that the Department of Overseas Trade in London are organising an Exhibition of "timbers _grown within the British Empire. The exhibition Will take place in London from July sth to July 17th, 1920, in in building having a gross areaiof 40,000 §'qu~a.re feet, tancl it is felt that this will -be a. most favourable opportunity for displaying the various grades of ‘timber produced in the British Empire. The classification embraces: (a.) Specimens of tim. her polished or unpolished; (b) ,ex. hibits demonstrating various uses to which timbers are put, namely, floors, staircases. furniture, ply wood, and articles of every-‘day use; (c) «wood pulp. The main object of the exhibition is "to bring prominently before those interested the full range of Im-I perial-grown timbers, especially thosci which up to the present areoovnly.,vel'y‘: slightly, if. at an, known in the United‘: Kingdom, and to demonstratg "the chief uses: forwhichi such» timbers are suit-.t.,
