BULL IN SHOP WINDOW.
QUAINT COMEDY IN CITY
SYDNEY, Dec. 15.
A little comedy -rarely seen outside a picture theatre was staged in Castlereagh Street,_ Sydney, the other day
A man who had been to market and purchased a ‘bull and a number of cows, was driving his small herd through a corner of the city when, with a pel‘verseness typically "feminine, one of the cows suddenly made up her bovine mind to go by a route that was not scheduled, and dashed into a side street‘_ Her owner had a few crowded moments in trying to convince her'that her theories about localities were all wrong, and left the rest of the herd, for some minutes, to their own devices.
The bull started a tour of exploration. He ambled slowly on to ' the pavement, and, apparently at peace with the world, wan‘de’"red along. Suddenly he perceived another bull glaring at him from the Window of a confectionery shop. He bristled. The other bull bristled. He pawed. The other bull‘paWed. He roared. The noise he made effectively drowned the challenging bellow of the other ‘mill’, but the latter went through all‘ the motions. i
One lbull could stand it no longer. He lowered his head and shot forward in a charge_ There was a mad crasli. Women screamed, men ‘sllouted——-and a completely bewildered ' and disillusioned hull was extricated from the Wreckage of the window and the big mirror which -had gracefi it. His majesty seemed to think it was a really great victory, but with something unsatisfying about it. His majesty’s owner had to pay the owner of the confectionery shop £2O.
