; LEWIS EEATS MATT WELLS. ! A WIN FUR PAL MOORE. LONDON, Dec. 28. L A remarkable boxing programme was provided at the Albert Hall, when two 20-round matches and one 12 round were .put on. Kid Lewis, of America, beat Matt Wells in the twelfth round. Wells unexpectedly retired, explaining that he was weakened by loss of blood from cuts on the face. It was a keen contest, and Lewis fought confidently. Pal Moore (America) defeated Eugene Criqui (France) in the fourteenth round, Criqui retiring after a squabble with the referee about an alleged foul. T
Johnny Griffiths knocked out Francis Charles in the third round. Carpentier, having flown from Paris," sparred four rounds with his second, Leannaers, giving a demonstration of how he knocked out Beckett, who was present. Tibby Watson, of Australia, who has been ill, is progressing favourably, and will "meet de Ponthieu in February in the Albert Hall.
