HAMILTON HODGES’ CONCERT.
NEW YEAR’S NIGHT.
’ All lovers of good clean entertainment should not fail to be present at the concert to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening next under the auspices_ of the ~Taih‘ape Returned Soldiers’ Association and the Taihap'é Athletic Club. The concert party has been» arranged by Mr Hamilton Hodges, the famous baritone singer, who has selected the best party of talented artists available in Wellington. The talent of Miss Eilleen Driscoll and Miss Cleo. Fernandos is "well known and-appreciated in Wellington, and these splendid vocalists are sure to receive a great reception in Taihape. Mr Hamilton Hodges needs no introduction as his reputation’ is Worldwide. The tenor of the party is Mr G-_ ‘Austin Blackie, who has delighted" audiences in various parts of New Zealand, and in addition to the solo items ‘by these two famous singers, they will be heard "to advantage in a duet, . “Watchman, What of the Night?” Mr W. W. Crawford is popularly known as the “entertainer of entertainers,” and has built up a great and well-merited reputation as an entertainer during the past few years. One of his star items is “The Waster,’~’ and he will also be seen to advantage in .“Water Scenes.”’
This concert party is one of exceptional merit ,-and the opportunity *of hearing such a talented combination is usually a privilege accorded only to city folk. There has been a'.p.aucity of ‘ first-class entertainment in ‘ Taihape for some time past, and those who wish to spend a really enjoyable evening should not fail to be present at this really high-class entertainment on NewvYear’s Night (sports night). Tickets are now on sale, and the box .plan is open ‘at Sherwinfs. Purchasers of 4/ 3/ tickets may book their seats at Sher-win’s up till closing time on New Year’s Eve, and onithe sports ground on New Year’s Day. The price of admission to the dress circle is 3/, and seats may bexhooked for any part of the circle or orchestral stalls. Back stalls’ tickets are 2/. Intending patrons are earnestlytadvised to purchase their tickets and book their seats without delay, as by so doing they will. avoid any overcrowding at the Town Hall on the evening of the concert.
