It just transpires that while the Bel-':zlna was waiting to embark passeng-')!‘S, I'.>u2~ fires broke out in different cabins. All were promptly extinguished, and the damage was very slight. The passengers were not aware of the outbreaks, the last 0-f which was extinguished as thelfirst passengers were mounting the gangwiays. The -steamer’s zdeparture was not delayed. The latest wireless from the B'elta.na reports “All well, no further outbreaks.” In the House of Commons, Sir Auckland Geddes said investigations -\V‘Cl'(,‘ proceeding to a.scerta.in flu, causes of fires on ex-Gernian vessels. Probably some were due to old bunkers not be ing cleaned out. _
