THE LOSSES OF THE ALLIES.
Mr Louis Maris, ‘the Reporter of the ‘Public Commission of the Chamber, publishes the oflicial figures of hte losses. of the Allied Armies during the war up to November. .1918. Those [figures are as follows:- . ' Killed. F Belgium ' 44.000 I‘ U.s.A.' ‘- Great Britain Greece ........ 12,000 Italy Roumania .. . . 400,000 Serbia .. . . . . .. 369,000 France The wounded in’ the French army numbered 2,800,000_ According to the _repol't of M. Maris, the expenses of the war to France amounted to 159,000,000,000 francs (£6,360,000,000). In view of the splendid service rendered ‘to the Allies by Seribia from the Very‘ beginning of the war it is remarkable \ that her total of fatal casualties should be less than those of Roumania. In regard to the French casualties it may be noted that they include those of her coloured colonial troops, which, especially in the last year of the war, were very heavy.
