AMERICAN SHIP MUTINY.
FIREMEN CEASE WORK.
NEW YORK, Dec.’ 22.
A mutiny occurred aboard the United Sfates ‘s'te'amer America, eonVeying the American Peace Delegatibn homeward, the ship being imperilled by the action of the sfokers, who attempted to stop the sfeamer by allowing ‘the fires under the boilers to die out.
The mutiny was promptly suppressed and the Infitinous firemen were all arrested and placed in irons. They were Imnded over to, the authorities on arrival of the steamer at her des~ tination.
It is denied that the mutiny was in any way connected with the I.WLW., but was due to the dissatisfaction of the men at being refused liberty to go ashore.
