GERMAN NAVY ’ S TASK.
URGED TO HELP THE FATHERLAND TO REBUILD ANEW. On the occasion of the ‘termination-of the work connected with the reduction of the naval forces provided for in the Peace Treaty, the" Chief of the German Adnrirelty, RearAAdmiral von Trotha, issued a proclamation to the Navy, in which he said:——— “The Gernl'3.n fleet has everywhere been able to show its flag. over being to the fore where the work of peace and the reputation of the working German‘ people was to be promoted, -and where Gerniany’s universall_\' admired." mercantile fleet and the colonies flourishing under her protection needed its helping hand, forming-a link between the Homeland Land the Grernmns: abroad. Our task is now to give 3 hand everywhere in our broken’ Father-~ land in order to build a new future;” The proclamation concludes by recalling the fleet’s successes in the war, and sirmmoning all members Of the navy, remembering their dead comrades, at all times and everywhere, to remain true to one another end ccoperatc with their whole’ strength in the country’s reconstruction. ‘
