The champions of the peasantry, on the other hand, maintain that they are being \neglected by the Government, which shows no hurry to »re~le>stablish in Ithe country districts the means of communication and trans. port suppressed during the war. M. Emanuel Btrousse, a deputy, alleges that the consignments of food stufis which the peasants send to market by train are systeniwtieally pillaged on the Way.
